On Oct 2nd, Manchester’s best chefs are gathering at Manchester’s iconic Freight Island.
For this special night, the city’s top chefs and restaurants are pairing-up with Freight island’s resident talent in a series of chef collabs. Putting the creativity, energy and flavour of Manchester’s food scene front-and-centre to create exciting one-off dishes. Expect street-food vibes, unforgettable food and great music.
The night will be soundtracked by live performances from grassroots Amex Unsigned artists, showcasing the very best of Manchester’s music culture alongside your food adventure.

Freight Island, 11 Baring Street, Manchester M1 2PZ
Nestled in the heart of Depot Mayfield, just behind Manchester Piccadilly station and surrounded by historic industrial architecture, Freight Island is a vibrant cultural hub for food, drink and entertainment.
Where is Freight Island?
Freight Island is located 2 minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station, address is 11 Baring Street, Manchester M1 2PZ.
Timings
Freight Island will open at 4pm, food service from 5:30pm.
The event will close at 10pm with last orders at 9:30pm
Disability & Accessibility
Freight Island is accessible for the most part. The Courtyard, Plant Room, and Avenue are all step-free and wheelchair-friendly, and disabled toilet available. The Platform area can be accessed via a lift. However, please note that the Sports Bar is not wheelchair accessible, as it can only be reached by stairs. If you have any specific accessibility needs, feel free to contact us in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
How does it work?
The event is free to enter, we would recommend pre-registering for you and your guests.
On arrival you will be welcomed before entering, scanning your ticket if pre-registered.
On the night food can be ordered from vendors at their stalls directly or via the app.
How do I redeem my Amex perks?
On arrival you will be asked to present your American Express card – your card will be scanned or details can be entered manually. Once confirmed wristbands will be given to grant access to VIP areas and drink token for complimentary drink.
As an American Express Cardmember, how many guests can receive VIP perks?
American Express Cardmember who have preregistered for tickets plus 3 guests.
Will there be veggie options?
All vendors will have at least one vegetarian or vegan option
What about dietary requirements?
Unfortunately we are unable to cater to specific dietary requirements. All allergens will be displayed on the menu boards of each trader, if you have any additional questions please speak to the vendors on the night.
Can I bring my children?
Children young and old are welcome at Food Fest. Please note that children are permitted at Freight Island until 9pm.
Under 16’s must be accompanied by by a parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult at all times while on the premises.
Valid identification will be required to confirm age.
Can I bring my dog?
We welcome friendly dogs across the whole site, inside and out. Dogs should be kept on a leash and supervised at all times.
